Ascent Map Best Guide-Sweet Spots, Callout and Battle Strategy in Valorant
Written by vlkey

Valorant has released many maps since its launch, but no map can compare with Ascent. Ascent is one of the most fun play maps. The best thing about this map is that it is perfectly balanced for both sides to attack and defend. My favorite part of this map is mid, where you can fight with the enemy and find out who is better in this game. Most players, when playing custom, also prefer to play this map. Players tend to like this map and never dodge when they get this map. Ascent is also the most picked map in VCT. Even the pro thinks that this map is fantastic.

Ascent

Ascent is based on Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy. This is the most traditional FPS map in Valorant. Ascent has the most open area in the center of the map than other maps. Ascent has two orbs, one in A main and the other one in B main. Each site has one door that opens at the start of each round and can be closed by pressing the switch on the site side. The door can be destroyed and has 500 HP. If the door is destroyed, it remains open permanently for the rest of the round.

The mid-site of this map can be a little tricky for an attacker as there are two sides for the enemy to the peak. Players with good aim can be found in mid as there is a lot of distance between players to fight. Whoever has the best aim wins the fight in the middle.

Callouts and Location

Callouts are pretty easy on this map as there aren’t a lot of places where enemies can be on this map. A good callout means an easy win for your team. Callouts can help your team find enemies that are hiding and help them significantly while pushing. If you are in defense, early callouts can help your team move faster to the site where enemies are pushing.

What strategy to use in Ascent Map

In Defending

Ascent is a perfect defendable map as you can rotate fast if the enemy is on the opposite side. Cypher and Killjoy are the best agents you can use to defend this map.

Killjoy’s setup at B and Cypher’s setup at A are almost impenetrable. These two agents can easily defend the site solo but if you have one agent from these two, go 2-3 formation, two where setup is present and three on the other site.

If you don’t have any defensive agents, go 2-2-1 formation, two on A, two on B, and 1 in mid. These formations work best in Ascent Map. Try picking your opponent when they are pushing the site. Always cover mid as many players try to flank or push from mid to site.

In Attacking

In attack, you can go 4-1 formation, go 4 in the site and one flank from mid or another site. In Ascent, many players rotate as soon as they get a callout that somebody is on another site, so faking is another good way to confuse and plant. If they have setup agents like Killjoy or Cypher, don’t go to that site where setups are present. Always push the side opposite to where setups are present.
