Valorant is famous for his 5v5 competitive game mode. But it also brings some fun modes in the game which you can play to refresh your mind like simply wanna throw snowballs while skating or wanna play with one same agent for all the team members. Right now, Valorant has seven game modes to play. 

  • Unrated 
  • Competitive 
  • Spike Rush 
  • Deathmatch 
  • Replication 
  • Escalation 
  • Custom Game

The game has four permanent PvP game modes (Unrated, Competitive, Spike Rush and Deathmatch) and some other PvP game modes is fun to play modes ( Escalation, Replication and Snowball Fight) There is also a map to practice your skill and aim known as The Range.

Spike Plant/Defuse

Spike Plant/Defuse is the main and base mode of the game with the Valorant core mechanics. Most of the game mode is based on the Spike Defusal. In this mode games played in round Attackers vs Defenders, your team gets a random side in the match starting. After a certain number of rounds (depending on modes), your side swap.

You must plant the spike to win the round or eliminate all the enemy’s members on the attacker’s side. If the defender side eliminates attackers or defuses the spike in time, they can win the round. On the defender side, you must stop the spike plant or eliminate all the attackers to win or defuse the spike to win the round. 

Unrated

Unrated is the standard mode of the game, which is the same as competitive but without rank points. In unrated, you can select agents (depending on your game style), buy phase and standard gameplay roles. There are 12 rounds per half, and the first 13 rounds win the game. If the score ties in with 12-12 rounds, then overtime of 1 round per half can be played until 2 rounds are won in a row.

Competitive

Competition is the main focus mode of Valorant. In competition, your win and loss contribute to your rank rating depending on your personal performance. In competitive matchmaking based on your rank. In competition, you have to play as a team and select the agents depending on your game style or team’s needs. You also have to spend your credits carefully with your team calls in competition. Communication is also essential in that you can tell the enemy’s location or create a plan for how to win the round.

Spike Rush

Spike Rush is the quickest version of unrated and competitive with our credits point. Spike rush also has attackers and defenders, with the first 4-round win team winning the match. If the match is tied with 3-3 rounds, then the next round is overtime which team wins that round and wins the match? In Spike Rush, you get random weapons with full agent abilities in each round. Orbs in the different places across the map provide various buffs to influence the round. Orbs can provide:

  • Win Condition:  First to 4 (BO7)
  • Agent selection: Player choice
  • Ability use: Allowed

Replication

Replication is fun to play mode where all team members play with the same agent. The first half has four rounds, the first five rounds win the match, and overtime is one round. Each round refreshes your abilities and weapons and gets you creds with each round. First round creds are 900 and round 2 creds are 3,900, and next rounds 3 and 4 get 6,000 creds.

  • Agent selection: Player vote, random selection from choices
  • Ability use: Allowed

Deathmatch

Deathmatch is a 12-player game which is played on a random map. This is totally gunplay skill test mode without agent abilities. Players get heavy shields automatically, and all the weapons available can be changed after death. The game ends when one of the players reaches 40 kills or the game time ends, which is 9 minutes. 

  • Gamemode type: FFA Deathmatch
  • Number of players: 12 
  • Win Condition:  40 kills, Most kills after 9 minutes
  • Agent selection: Random
  • Ability use: Removed

Escalation

Escalation is a 5v5 team deathmatch mode where players kill other team members and race through a cycle of different weapons and abilities. The team that finishes level 12 first wins the game or the furthest in 10 minutes. Each level has different weapons and abilities that the player is equipped with. 

  • Gamemode type: Team Deathmatch
  • Number of players: 5v5
  • Win Condition:  Complete 12 levels
  • Agent selection: Random
  • Ability use: Removed

Snowball Fight

It’s the most fun-to-play mode in Valorant. It’s a 5v5 team deathmatch where everyone uses snowballs to kill the enemy team. The first team to reach 50 kills wins. Agent selection for all players is random, and this mode has no agent ability. The players can pick up the orbs to give them one of four temporary power-ups: 

  1. Growball: Snowballs grow over time while travelling in the air
  2. Rapid Fire: Infinite magazine increased the rate of fire to 1.667 rounds per second
  3. Ricochet Snowballs:  can bounce off of the ground and walls
  4. Skates: Increased movement speed and max jump height
  • Gamemode type: Team Deathmatch
  • Number of players: 5v5
  • Win Condition:  first 50 kills
  • Agent selection: Random
  • Ability use: Removed

The Range

The Range is a practice map where players can test gun skills. All agents unlock in practice mode. Test your gun skill with a variety of shooting challenges. Practice spike planting and defuse in the practice mode. You can also test different agents’ abilities to match your skill. You can also find Brimstone’s office in the Range, a small part of his lore and some easter eggs.
